While Akhtar didn’t drop any hints about the film’s title, speculation among fans is already buzzing. Many are wondering if he’s working on a sequel to his 2011 hit ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ or perhaps the next installment of the ‘Don’ franchise. The comment section on his post is filled with guesses and excited requests for a follow-up to ‘ZNMD’, with one user asking, “Is ZNMD 2 on the cards?” and another urging, “Please make ZNMD 2.”

Ladakh holds a special place in Akhtar’s heart, having served as the backdrop for both ‘Lakshya’ (2004) and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ (2013). His deep admiration for the region is evident, and it’s no surprise that he chose it again for this new project.

In addition to his current shoot, Akhtar is gearing up to return to directing with the highly anticipated ‘Don 3’. This installment will feature Ranveer Singh stepping into the iconic role previously played by Shah Rukh Khan. The announcement came in August 2023 with a teaser showcasing Singh in a stylish and intense portrayal of Don. Alongside him, Kiara Advani will be joining the cast. The previous ‘Don’ films, which also starred Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani, are celebrated for their gripping stories and high-octane action, with the franchise winning acclaim and awards over the years.

The original ‘Don’ (1978), featuring Amitabh Bachchan, was a landmark in Indian cinema, and Akhtar’s remakes in 2006 and 2011 have continued to build on its legacy. Fans are eagerly awaiting more news about both the new project in Ladakh and the upcoming ‘Don’ sequel, as Farhan Akhtar continues to capture imaginations with his diverse and impactful work.
